Collaborating Across Countries for Climate Justice
Wednesday May 21, 2025 8:50am - 9:40am EDT
How can powerful collaboration drive climate action in education? In this presentation, teachers from Laos, the US, and Brazil will share how we enhanced our professional development and built a network focused on sustainability. We’ll discuss our projects and a collaborative Canva book we created showcasing visions for a sustainable future.

Below is the link to podcast episode that we were on  (Teach4Justice) where we talked about Climate Justice and work we are doing to raise awareness of climate issues and the need for climate action.  Check it out!

Sustainability and Climate Change for All: A Systematic Approach to Implement k-12 Problem-Based Learning and Design Thinking
Wednesday May 21, 2025 8:50am - 9:40am EDT
In this session, we’ll explore how integrating sustainability and climate change into K–12 education by incorporating problem-based learning (PBL) and design thinking, we can actively engage students in real-world environmental challenges, fostering critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. This approach not only deepens their understanding of climate change, but also equips them with the skills to develop innovative solutions and become empowered change-makers in their communities. Best practices and exemplar (integrated across content areas) sustainability PBLs will be shared.
